Rhythm & Roots is a lively, high-energy event that celebrates the musical and rhythmic traditions of Black folk culture. Presented in partnership with Uncommon Stage at Emerson College, the series features live performances by both established and emerging artists, along with interactive drum circles, dance sessions, and storytelling through rhythm. Audiences are invited to engage directly through drumming and dancing, creating a communal, immersive experience. Spanning genres from traditional African beats and gospel to blues and contemporary expressions, Rhythm & Roots honors the evolution of Black music while connecting diverse communities to its cultural origins.
